Textiles Through finishing and coating processes a producer creates functional textiles which can e.g. repel water, improve the wear comfort or protect against fire. Technical textiles are mostly tied to other materials and will often not be washed. Examples are textiles in cars and trains, artificial grass, awning or sails. The most cost efficient way for the application of textile functionality is through finishing and coating. It is possible to vary the effect strength and to generate effect combinations.
Other markets ecoatech products have been developed primarily for the use in textile production. However, incorporation of our products in other materials has shown very positive results. Especially for flame retardants there are similarities with other materials (than textile) which use cellulose and fibrous substances. We have worked with nonwoven, paper, wood, composite materials and plastics. Together with partner companies and institutes we evaluate the properties of ecoatech products for other industries. Customer projects have to proof the value for new end use articles and application technologies.
